Husky was started in 1924 by Sigmund Mandl, a Czech immigrant. The brand was sold to a long line of companies, starting with Olsen Manufacturing Company, then New Britain Machine Company, which was purchased by Litton Industries, then The Stanley Works acquired the brand and the rights were eventually transferred to The Home Depot. A large majority of products sold under the Husky brand are manufactured in China. The actual goods come from a variety of manufacturers.
